My Favorite Aesthetics

Image
I love aesthetics. Everyone one has a different idea of what is a "good aesthetic" or a "bad aesthetic". Aesthetics are more than styles, they're items, personalities, and much more. My style is always evolving, but here are some I'm loving right now:   Clean Girl Aesthetic This one is a big one for me. I love white, cute jewelry, skincare, spa days, scented candles, nice nails, all of it! I think it's so cute, and it really is one of my favorites. On the days where I feel very clean girl, I like to wear a white shirt, black flare pants and a cute bag. Super clean girl :) Vanilla Girl Aesthetic  Similar to clean girl, vanilla girl is super cute, gold & beige, soft, and absolutely one of my favorites! I LOVE vanilla anything, candles, body mists, scrubs, e.t.c! But this is more than the scent, it's the vibe! Cozy, warm, chill, pretty, It's great! Cozy Girl Aesthetic I love cozy!!!!! Uggs, hoodies, stuffed animals, blankets, sweatpants, cozy!!!...

I Did a Major Desk Makeover: Here's How It Turned Out

Image
My desk was looking far too messy, so I knew it was time for a change. My old desk was messy, filled with everything, and not usable. My new desk, well, let's get to it. The first thing I did when I decided I wanted to give my desk a makeover was I took EVERYTHING off. I put them into piles of "put upstairs" "put downstairs" "throw away" and many more.  Then, I went ahead and put them upstairs, put them downstairs, threw them away and more. These first two parts were the most time consuming. Lots of things were really hard to find a place for, like a random clay box I made in third grade, but somehow, I managed to figure it out (with the help of my mom). That was the end of day one. I got some rest, took in some more energy, and had a nice break from all the hard work I had done. Fast forward to the next evening. My friend came over, and she decided she wanted to help me! We started by cleaning off the desk with a wet paper towel, and obviously dryin...

Recommendations (For All Sorts of Things)

I've got a lot of favorites. Books, games, movies, products, all of it! Here are some things I'm loving right now and why: Books: Almost Flying by Jake Maia Arlow- This book is by one of my favorite authors, and is written super well. It's a mix between a romance and realistic fiction and will have you wanting more. The main character is 13, and super relatable for tweens. I'm not going to go into the story, but go check it out! Hazel Bly & The Deep Blue Sea by Ashley Herring Blake- This one is sad, happy, heartbreaking, joyful and extremely good. If you're looking for a tearjerker, some romance, and a great plot, come check this amazing book out! Games: Online: Avatar World- This game is the best. It's a role-playing game where there are different locations like stores, parks, houses, and LOTS more. You can design your own house with the many furniture options, and there are also many different houses you can choose from! You have 3 free character slots t...

How I Try to Keep My Backpack Organized & What I Keep In It

Let me make this clear: I'm a fairly organized person! I clean things when they're messy, and I've probably reorganized my desk a million times, but sometimes, it's not you that's the problem, it's what your organizing. My backpack has 2 pockets. A big main pocket, and a small pocket. The main pocket has a little pocket inside of it, but that's about it in terms of sections I have to put stuff. Problem: it's REALLY hard to keep it organized. Few pockets make it hard to have sections for different things, but here's what I try to do: 1. I do a backpack dump every once and a while to get rid of things I don't need. 2. I dedicate the pocket inside the main pocket for notebooks, folders and electronics because I have a lot of them in my backpack. 3. I use the rest of the space in the big pocket for things like pencil cases, gum, lunchboxes, and other things I need throughout my day. 4. I use the small pocket for little things like lip balm and hand...

How to Make Hand Cream

Hands get dry! There is no avoiding it, especially in the winter months. To help your hands feel moisturized and happy, try this simple hand cream recipe that is extra-rich and super hydrating! Ingredients: 1/4 cup of shea butter 2 tablespoons coconut oil 1 tablespoon beeswax 10 drops of any essential oil Instructions: 1. Mix the shea butter, coconut oil, and beeswax in a double boiler. You can find substitutes for double boilers online. Warm over low heat, stirring until the fats have melted and the ingredients have been fully combined. 2. Remove from the heat and stir in the 10 drops of essential oils. 3. Let the hand cream sit for 30 minutes to thicken, then move it to a container. Once it has cooled, place the lid on the container. 4. Enjoy your simple, rich, moisturizing hand cream! This will keep your hands happy and hydrated! Super simple recipe makes it easy to make multiple batches, great for gifting to friends and family! I personally love this recipe, and it keeps my h...

All About "New Preppy"

If you haven't realized, "preppy" doesn't mean schoolgirl, clean cut, elite Ivy League aesthetic any more. Gen Alpha and Gen Z reinvented the style. Things like smiley faces and big, pink bows are included in this new definition. Social media like TikTok and Youtube started a huge trend of "new preppy," which is a much more girly bright aesthetic. Things like Stanley water bottles, skincare, and hoodies are preppy! It's true! Preppy has turned into an aesthetic that includes lots of trendy things and flashy prints, very unlike "old preppy."  You've probably heard tweens and teens saying things like "it's so preppy in here" and "this is so preppy" and been like whaaaaaat?  because they're talking about a lululemon store or a pink Nirvana shirt. But they simply are thinking of preppy as the new definition, which as you can tell, is quite different. My advice is not to fight it. Although it's hard to hang on t...

Things I Love About Winter

Since December is nearing, and I am a winter enthusiast, I thought I would share some things I love about winter!  1. Watching the snow fall! I'm not the biggest fan of snowball fights and sledding, (I know! I know!) but nothing is cozier than watching the snow blanket the trees and roads with white, fluffy glory!   2. Hot cocoa! Yum yum! This one goes perfectly with number one! Sitting by the window, watching the snow fall, gently sipping a cup of steaming hot cocoa... What could be better? 3. Cozy things! Yup, that's right! If you can't already tell, I'm a lover of anything cozy! Cozy clothes, cozy blankets, cozy anything! Sweaters! Scented Candles! Socks! Slippers! I could go on! More on this later :) 4. Holidays! For me, it's Hanukkah. Latkes, sufganiyot (yummy jelly filled doughnuts), lighting the menorah, so much fun! But maybe for you it's Christmas! Or Kwanza! Also fun! 5. Excuses to stay inside with a good book and some music! I know it's a long o...
