I Did a Major Desk Makeover: Here's How It Turned Out

My desk was looking far too messy, so I knew it was time for a change. My old desk was messy, filled with everything, and not usable. My new desk, well, let's get to it.

The first thing I did when I decided I wanted to give my desk a makeover was I took EVERYTHING off. I put them into piles of "put upstairs" "put downstairs" "throw away" and many more.

Then, I went ahead and put them upstairs, put them downstairs, threw them away and more. These first two parts were the most time consuming. Lots of things were really hard to find a place for, like a random clay box I made in third grade, but somehow, I managed to figure it out (with the help of my mom).

That was the end of day one. I got some rest, took in some more energy, and had a nice break from all the hard work I had done. Fast forward to the next evening.

My friend came over, and she decided she wanted to help me! We started by cleaning off the desk with a wet paper towel, and obviously drying it off. Then we started thinking about what I wanted my desk to look like. I decided on a natural chic aesthetic.

Then we started to work. We were creative! We used an old cassette tape holder as organizers for my pens, markers, pencils and little trinkets. We also used some VERY natural chic wall hangers as organizers for my notebooks, sticky notes, erasers and stapler. We had two, so the other one was used for files and books.

Once we had everything organized, we added some natural chic decor. We had a jar full of pretty autumn leaves, and we put it on my desk! We added a super pretty plant in a white pot too! And for a final touch, we added a little cardboard "M" for my name!

If you're wondering about drawers, that's a different story. I don't have a vanity, so my drawers are where I keep all the things that would go on my vanity and put the desk things in the organizers I told you about.

My desk was complete! I was (and still am!) so happy about! Now, it would be cruel of me to tell you about this desk and these drawers without pictures, so here you go! WARNING: they were taken by me so they might not be very good :)
