How I Try to Keep My Backpack Organized & What I Keep In It

Let me make this clear: I'm a fairly organized person! I clean things when they're messy, and I've probably reorganized my desk a million times, but sometimes, it's not you that's the problem, it's what your organizing. My backpack has 2 pockets. A big main pocket, and a small pocket. The main pocket has a little pocket inside of it, but that's about it in terms of sections I have to put stuff. Problem: it's REALLY hard to keep it organized. Few pockets make it hard to have sections for different things, but here's what I try to do:

1. I do a backpack dump every once and a while to get rid of things I don't need.

2. I dedicate the pocket inside the main pocket for notebooks, folders and electronics because I have a lot of them in my backpack.

3. I use the rest of the space in the big pocket for things like pencil cases, gum, lunchboxes, and other things I need throughout my day.

4. I use the small pocket for little things like lip balm and hand sanitizer. I used to keep my snacks in there, but it got really cramped, so I moved it to the big pocket.

5. I change my organization depending on the things in the bag. If I have more small, random things than bigger things like folders, I switch the things in the pocket inside the main pocket and the extra space inside the main pocket to match the things I have in my bag.

These strategies have helped me get the most out of my tiny backpack, and I think it works pretty well. Now, I'd like to share what I keep in my backpack:

1. Notebooks

2. Folders

3. Planner

4. Gum

5. Bag of sucking candy

6. Hand sanitizer (preferably touchland hand sanitizer)

7. Lip balm

8. Pencil case

9. Hand mirror

10. Lunchbox

11. Snack

12. Computer

These essentials cover almost everything I need during the day at school, and somehow have managed to fit in my backpack! It's all about the organization, baby! I hope this helps you with organizing your small bags, and if there is one thing you take away from this, it's that just because the thing is not organized, it doesn't mean YOU'RE not organized.
